So Long Kanunu... It's Been Real.

Tiki Pendant carved from a bone domino by GreenSpaceGoods
I've found that I'm really really bad about getting attached to certain pieces. (Which could be why we have an entire wall full of Ink Blot illustrations. ) Right after creation, you say to the piece, "you're pretty cool, but I can let you go". And then you list it. And then a few days go by. And then a few months go by. Pretty soon, you're used to seeing that piece like a friendly face. It greets you in the morning and you think, "it's nice having you around, and no one has bought you yet, so maybe you'll just stay". That familiarity has been built and it's comforting. And then the day comes when you log on and a piece is missing from the list! "Yay! Oh wait, not you! Not you who have slowly become my favorite without me realizing it! Surely, there has been a mistake! You can't leave me!!!" But it is no mistake. Kanunu is on his way to Ohio, where I'm sure he will be loved very much.

Don't get me wrong, I love selling items. (Please don't slap me!) I just wish they left sooner, so I would get so attached to them! Goodbye dear friend. You will be missed :'{

Nice Blog! I know what you mean about it being hard to part with items. Years ago I used to resell my DD clothes on Ebay the first little dress that sold sent me into tears. I even cried when I shipped it, I remember that dress to this day, LOL!

Thanks bridget! That's the idea. Mass produced pieces are fine and all, but we like that our customers know that their tiki is the only one like it in the world. We initially thought about sandblasting several of each design, but it just didn't feel right. Each one is drawn and then carved by hand. The final owner isn't going to run into someone else with the same design- ever. We will create "cousins" if someone likes a design, but not the color. However- we refuse to attempt to make exact replicas. That's why they are "cousins". They are intentionally a little bit different, but could be from the same family.

Ah, I know that feeling all too well! But then, I'm thinking I'd like to say goodbye to some now ;) Great stuff - here's to them moving faster!

I am SO in touch with that emotion lol! It is a gorgeous piece & will be well loved in Ohio, at least you can rest easy knowing that.

A few weeks ago I sold a pin that used to be mine--I think I'll always remember it fondly. Must fight urge to horde.

Kanunu has made his way to Ohio and he IS DEFINITELY much loved. I think he was tired of languishing on my favorites list so he sent Tiki vibes to my hubby to buy him for my birthday.

Thanks for sharing your awesome artwork!
