The Red Coat is my entry for Illustration Friday's "blanket" theme since it is covered in a thick blanket of snow. This one has been framed and is now on display at a little boutique in Augusta, GA. I have a large collection of children's books and am always looking for new ones with amazing illustrations. I've tried once or twice to write one myself, but if I write one, I would of course have to illustrate it. I have a small problem with that. I get bored....way too bored, way too fast. By the time I finish one panel, I'm ready to move on to a different story! That is what happened with this little girl. I was thinking of this layout for the book cover, but the book hasn't been written! Ultimately, that's ok. She was a joy to draw, and hopefully she will brighten someone else's home soon.
Stay warm everyone :)

That is a very cute illustration. It would be perfect in a childrens book. Love it.
What a fantastic illustration!you can tell she's ready for some adventure.
What fun! I want to be with her, making footprints in the snow.
you can TELL that it was a joy for you to create!
Wow I love it!
Hi there! Visiting from your link on the etsy forums :) What a fantastic blog you have!! This illustration is just beautiful! I have a weakness for fabulous illustrated children's books too :) Maybe you could find a partner to illustrate the stories you tell? A collaborative effort?
I liked the post below about Foster's too. During the long school break, our household has also been at that website to design friends :)
She is adorable :)
