This was Michael's Christmas present last year. I had a crash course in welding and had to complete it in secret (no easy task). The dragon is based on a small paper dragon he found on the internet and fell in love with. Because of the way the head is constructed, he appears to turn his head and follow you with his eyes. Currently, it stands guard over Michael's cubicle at work. (I get lots of "my girlfriend welded this HERSELF! comments" thank to this one)Materials include: sheet metal, printing blocks, bike parts, a trowel, pipe, spoons, etc.

yeah, it took a while for it to sink into him that I had actually made it. He kept saying "I just can't believe you did this!". When will they learn that we can do anything?
Come to think of it. We have some videos somewhere of the head turning illusion. I'll have to post it one day.
